São Paulo, December 18th, 2025 – The Geely EX5, a 100% electric C-SUV, was awarded the "Best Electric Vehicle of 2025" by the UOL Carros prize in Brazil. Since its first launch in Brazil in July, the Geely EX5 has been securing the sales lead in its category for four consecutive months, winning over customer reliance and professional recognition.
UOL (Universo Online) is Brazil’s largest internet portal and also the world’s largest portal in the Portuguese language. The UOL Carros is one of the main awards in the automotive sector and reaches its ninth edition in 2025. The jury, composed of 31 automotive journalists, decided the winner based on criteria including design, cost-benefit, technology, connectivity, performance, and fuel consumption.
“We are very happy with this achievement for the Geely EX5! It marked Geely Auto's debut in the Brazilian market and is the brand's first global model, demonstrating all of Geely Auto's advanced technology and expertise in designing, building, and producing a world-leading electric vehicle,” celebrates Alex Chen, Commercial Director at Geely Auto.
The Geely EX5 is built on the GEA architecture, which stands out for its structural integrity and high space utilization, delivering an exceptional driving experience and superior energy efficiency. The global model has completely electric propulsion and excels in four pillars: Smart Energy, Smart Safety, Smart Space, and Smart Interaction.
Award-winning Design
The design of the Geely EX5 combines imposing lines, a unique personality, and aerodynamic functionality. Designed by Geely, which has design centers in Gothenburg, Sweden; Shanghai, China; Coventry, England; and Milan, Italy, the Geely EX5 has received several design awards. The SUV was recognized by important design awards around the world, such as in the product design category at the Red Dot Awards, a gold medal at the IDA Design Award (International Design Awards), and a platinum medal at the Muse Design Award.
Smart Energy
The Geely EX5 features an intelligent 11-in-1 electric powertrain that offers unparalleled efficiency and performance, and which will set a new benchmark for electric vehicles. With 218 hp and 320 Nm (32.6 kgfm), the propeller weighs only 79.8 kg and has the smallest volume in the category, occupying only 0.079 m³. Energy efficiency reaches 90%.
Its performance is impressive, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in up to 6.9 seconds, in the PRO version. The maximum speed is 180 km/h. There are three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Smart Safety
There are six safety pillars of the Geely EX5: active, passive, for pedestrians, for health, cybernetic, and for the battery. Available in the MAX version, the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) include Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Front Collision Alert System (CMSF), Rear Collision Alert System (CMSR), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB), Traffic Sign Recognition Assistant (TSI), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELKA), and Blind Spot Assist (BSD).
Smart Space
In dimensions, the Geely EX5 is 4.61 meters long, 1.90 m wide, 1.67 m high, and has a 2.75 m wheelbase. Although it is a C SUV in size, the interior space is that of a D SUV, with a cabin utilization rate of 67.2%.
As for luggage volume, the trunk offers 461 liters (in the VDA measurement standard) up to the height of the rear seatbacks and can carry up to 1,877 liters with them folded down. Available for the MAX version, the tailgate has electric activation by key, button, app, or command on the steering wheel.
Smart Interaction
Geely developed an automotive super chip with only seven nanometers in partnership with SiEngine Technology, a unit equivalent to one billionth of a meter, the first of its kind manufactured in China. The digital instrument panel has 10.2 display and is accompanied by the 15.4-inch Flyme Auto multimedia center. The MAX version offers a 13.8” head-up display (HUD). The wireless smartphone charger has 15 watts of power and includes an alert for forgetting the device.
It is possible to interact with the car through the intelligent voice assistant with the command: “Hello, Geely!” The interface understands up to 200 commands and works in 10 languages, all without manual intervention.
In the Geely EX5 MAX, the high degree of technological immersion is completed by the Flyme Sound system, which integrates 16 high-quality speakers, including five mid-range, four tweeters, four woofers, and two in the driver’s headrest.
