Geely Auto teases further Information on the future Bo Yue compact SUV

09/12/2015

December 8th 2015, Hangzhou, China. Geely Auto today revealed further information on the forth coming Geely Bo Yue SUV. The new compact SUV’s name was released in October 2015, with Bo Yue meaning to amply win, clearly the name is fit for the forthcoming vehicle.

Geely Auto today revealed that the forthcoming Bo Yue will be packing a 1.8 Turbo Direct Injection engine along with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine. The 1.8 Turbo Direction gasoline engine is capable of producing 135kw of power with 285Nm of torque when paired to a six speed automatic gearbox , this engine was designated as one of the ‘China Heart Top Ten Engines’ in  October 2015, the second turbo assisted from Geely to win such an award.

The Bo Yue SUV was designed by Peter Horbury’s global design team that have established four global design studios in Shanghai, Barcelona, California and Gothenburg, Sweden where Geely has 300 designers working on the future design direction of Geely Auto vehicles.

The interior and exterior design of the Bo Yue was, as with the Geely GC9, inspired by Chinese culture and historical design aspects. The famed ‘Broken Bridge’ that spans Hangzhou’s West Lake was the inspiration for the dashboard in both the Geely GC9 and the Bo Yue SUV, the dashboard arches from East to West and then moves over into the door panels to further the interior design language allowing users to feel in control of a powerful cockpit rather than feeling surrounded by buttons and controls.

Apple’s CarPlay system has also been installed to bring intelligent systems directly to the fingertips of the driver and passengers allowing them to access navigation and entertainment systems directly.<?xml:namespace prefix="o">

On the exterior, Bo Yue SUV measures in at (LxWxH) 4519 x 1831 x 1694 with a wheelbase of 2670mm. The Bo Yue has the same signature strong shoulder lines that have been featured on the Geely GC9 and New Emgrand Concept Car from the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show. These strong shoulders lead up from the front wheels, through the A-Pillar and across the roof line to create a dynamic, sporting shape that runs into the rear of the vehicle.

The Bo Yue is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2016 and has quickly become one of the most anticipated vehicles of 2016 within China and within Geely’s key export markets.
