Geely Continues To Rank On Fortune 500 List

- Geely joins the Fortune 500 list for the third year running
- Strong income growth helped the company move up 11 places in 2014
- Zhejiang Geely Holding Group now ranked at 466th position

 

25th July 2014, Hangzhou, China. Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (herein after referred to as Geely) is pleased to announce that the company has been ranked on the Fortune 500 list for the third consecutive year.
In 2014 Geely moved forward 11 places on the list, moving from 477 to 466th place in 2014. Geely first entered onto the Fortune 500 list in 2012 and has continued to go from strength to strength.
Geely’s total revenue for the 2013 calendar year reached USD$25.767 billion with Geely selling a total of 549,518 units, whilst Volvo sold 427,840 units. Geely is now a global company with operations in every continent, in addition to owning Volvo Car Company, Geely also owns London Taxi, Emerald Automotive, and Australia’s DSI transmission systems – the world’s second largest manufacturer of automotive transmissions in the world.

Within China, Geely boasts nine production facilities including full car, engine and transmission systems and also eight overseas factories which cover all major international markets. Geely has design centres in Shanghai, Barcelona, Goteborg, and California, with R&D centres in China, Sweden and Australia. Volvo has production centres in Sweden, Belgium and two facilities in China, in Daqing and Chengdu respectively. London Taxi came under 100% Geely control in February 2013 and saw sales rebound considerably with new sales happening from its Coventry production and sales base to Nanjing, China and Perth, Australia.

 

Geely Introduction:
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is a top ten automobile manufacturewithin China. Since entering into the car market in 1997, Geely has seen rapid development though flexible management and unremitting independent innovation. Geely’s total assets have now exceeded RMB 100 billion (including Volvo Cars Corporation). Geely has established a complete domestic sales network comprised of nearly 1,000 4S dealers and service stations, with Geely establishing nearly 200 sales and service outlets in overseas markets with outlets being continually added. These centres have the capacity to develop complete vehicles, engines, transmissions and automotive electronics for the Geely range of vehicle.Geely’s engineering capability is highlighted through independent crash test scores: with a 45.3 score from C-NCAP, the Geely Panda was awarded a five star rating and is thus regarded one of the most safe small cars in China. The Emgrand EC7 sedan received a four star rating from the Euro-NCAP in 2012 and is the first car from China to achieve the four star ranking in Europe. The Emgrand EC8 got a record breaking 49.6 points from C-NCAP and outperformed a host of foreign brands in its category.  Geely has over 18,000 employees, including over 2,300 engineers and technicians, three academicians, dozens of foreign experts, and doctors, hundreds of masters and senior engineers. They are backbones of Geely’s future, playing significant roles on all fronts of Geely’s R&D efforts.
